Baby quilt

This next project I made within a day for a few friends of ours who we were going to see the next day (lol) and who were expecting. I used all the leftover colorful filler pieces from the other quilts and made a few rows and sewed them together.
I had a little but of help..
Embroidered their last name onto the quilt and the year for the new baby
All finished nice and bright, with a heart in the middle to hold it all together and to look nice
I have heard all good things from the new parents, their baby loves the blanket and it is perfect for all day play and visual stimulation!! Which is a wonderful feeling!

Kid quilts

So I did a second big quilt for my daughter for her 2nd birthday. It was another memory quilt just like my husband and mine's. Baby cloths from birth that were cute, I saved then and cut them up (which was a little bit harder because of the shape and size of baby cloths). I made it the same way, random big pieces mixed in with regular squares making a generic size rectangle. Then piecing it all together.
The finished product, all the cute and colorful baby to 2 year old cloths, with a kinda cool background.
The pillow my husband designed, and I was able to pull off!!
Ill be bringing her quilt back out this winter hopefully she will want to use it this time around lol.

My first HUGE project!!!

Ever since I met my husband back in '05 I have saved clothing that has been special to us, important events or just really comfy ones. Every time we moved there was a bag full of cloths that I would add to. Finally last year I went through those cloths and cut them up, and put them in with my sewing machine. Then I started the biggest project I have ever done. I made a HUGE very warm quilt bigger than my 6'2" husband! There was no pattern or design, just random squares together and random piecing the rectangles together.

each big rectangle pieced together ready to be sewn up

Each row all rolled up and ready to be sewn together.

All the rows sewn together ready to be measured to the back.

showing the size.. bigger quilt than my husband.
The finished product, and showing the corners of the quilt blue and green.

The finished quilt is almost a king size, super warm, I put more batting into it. It is a little bit heavy but it is a great HUGE first quilt. A job well done.

The beginning of my creations....

It was either for my birthday or a Christmas gift ( I really cant remember) that my sister gave me this amazing gift! And it has been an amazing gift! I have done little projects here and there, when I have the time to fit it in. I went BIG and then cut back and did some of these projects for myself, my sister, and my daughter
